Ozzy Osbourne is jumping into the conversation around the 2020 Presidential race, reviving his classic “Ozzy for President” apparel.
“It’s time for a new candidate…” the rock God tweeted, last month. The short video displays alternating images of his slogan and television static.
The slogan first rolled out in 1984 and continued to be a fan favorite well into the new millennium. Ozzy is giving fans old and new a chance to grab updated merchandise. Various items include t-shirts, hoodies and even bumper stickers you can purchase from his website.
During an interview with Rolling Stone the Prince of Darkness discussed an array of political issues and interests. “And anyone who runs for office, I think there should be an age limit. Eight years to us is nothing but to us, but if you’re f****** 76, eight years is like death,” he said.
“If I was running for president, I would try and find out a little bit about politics.” But Osbourne quickly squashed any ideas of a potential White House run. “I’m honest enough to say I don’t know what the f*** I’m talking about.”
While Osbourne ponders politics, his fan base early awaits the release of a biopic chronicling the artist’s legendary career. His wife, Sharon Osbourne, spoke with Rolling Stone earlier this month expressing a desire that the movie would be "a lot more real" than other recent rock biopics, such as Bohemian Rhapsody.
The A&E documentary Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne premieres Labor Day, September 7, at 9PM ET/PT.
