While Election Day is November 3rd, many Americans have already cast their ballot by voting early.
According to CNET, over 69 million votes have already been cast, with more than 44 million via mail-in ballots.
Those that do not want to vote in person have the option to drop off their mail-in ballot at a polling location or through the United States Post Office.
To ease any anxiety of wondering if your ballot has arrived by your state’s deadline there are various ways to track the status of your ballot.
How a ballot is tracked can vary by state and even by county. BallotTrax is a tracking service used by various states and counties, but not all.
Other states have implemented their tracking systems or defer to the USPS to monitor a ballot’s whereabouts. In addition, a handful of states don’t offer any sort of online tracking of ballots.
To track your ballot, you may be required to enter your name, address, date of birth and even your social security number, as well as the ballot tracking number.
