If there’s one thing that I’m missing most during this quarantine, it’s sports. No NBA finals, no baseball games, and no awesome ball park food; this summer has definitely been lack luster. But as we approach a new phase in our lives of quarantine, one thing I never thought I’d get into was hiking.
Oh Sara, my devious sister, convinced me to join her on a hike at Poo Poo Point about a week ago after hearing me complain about not being able to go to the gym during this pandemic. In my head, I thought this was a great idea. So optimistic wasn’t I? Let me show you a photo of the smile on my face before we started the hike.
Look at that excitement. Now let me show you how I look half way into the hike.
Let’s call this “break #1”. And yes, the struggle was very real.
Something I quickly learned about my sister Sara, she’s in much better shape than me.
Sara will tell you she wasn’t judging me, but the photos tell a different story; and her eyes….lol
Lets call this “Break #2”.
Despite my legs feeling like Jello, the last push to the top did not defeat me!
And let me tell you…..the view was worth it!
SUCCESS! Was this supposed to be an easy hike? Because according to Sara, it was. According to my legs, I just ran a marathon.
I must say, there’s nothing better than sitting down after an intense hike. I think that’s the fastest I’ve ever drank a bottle of water in my life.
After a nice rest and long break, I was in a great mood. Sara asked me if I wanted to do another hike, and this was my response.
As you can see, I was on the fence haha.
But I’m happy to say, Sara has convinced me to go on another hike today!
As we move forward in the Pacific Northwest, more hikes will be reopening giving Sara and I more options; and my legs more pain. But you know what they say; not pain, no gain! #MovePNWforward
I hope you get out there and enjoy the weekend Rock-A-Holics!
