One of the most desirable baseball cards in existence recently sold at auction for a staggering amount.
A 1952 Topps rookie card of baseball legend Mickey Mantle recently sold for $5.2 MILLION, the most EVER for a baseball card. The previous record was held by a 2009 Mike Trout Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects Superfractor card, which previously sold for $3.9 million.
The card was graded in a perfect mint condition, and only a few remain in existence. 1952, the year the card was made, was also the first year Topps began producing baseball cards.
