Shawn Mendes is giving fans a look behind the curtain at his life and journey through a new Netflix documentary In Wonder.
The beautifully quaffed entertainer shared the good news with Twitter followers, Tuesday. The simple promotional poster frames Shawn in a high exposure filter with rich contrast. Fans get an eyeful of his hair and face. “Been working on this documentary for so long & am so excited to finally share it with you all #InWonder Nov 23rd on @netflixfilm,” the superstar captioned.
In Wonder is an account of Mendes’ career over the past few years.
Footage will likely focus on his 2019 self-titled world tour and possibly a few moments leading up to the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s also worth noting a similarity between the film’s title and the title track off Shawn’s upcoming album. Mendes recently talked with RADIO.COM’s Juila to expand on the writing process for his latest work in two years.
He says it was “tough" to figure out how he wanted to step back into his artistic voice. However, Shawn tells us that as soon as “Wonder” came about he knew exactly which direction he was headed. “I feel so good about what I am saying conceptually,” he said.
“I feel like 'Wonder' is in a lot of ways me just reflecting on my life, and life in general… I’ve never really done that before… probably because I didn’t have the mental capacity and clarity to even be able to reflect, and also probably because I was really scared of what people would think if I started to reflect in my music.”
Shawn’s Netflix documentary In Wonder starts streaming November 23. His fourth studio album, Wonder, arrives December 4.
