Bachelor Nation is buzzing after the new star of the upcoming season of "The Bachelor," Matt James, admits that he’s never been in love.
Fans got a look at the upcoming season in a newly leaked teaser from ABC.
James is asked by long-time host Chris Harrison, “You’ve never been in love?” After James confirms that he hasn’t, Harrison says ,“My job is to change that.”
The clip is packed with highly-expected drama between the female contestants, steamy make outs, and lots of tears.
The first look hints at a potential plot twist in the season, keeping fans of the show at the edge of their seat.
“What just happened is not okay,” one woman said while crying.
The teaser also includes another wannabe bride tripping up the stairs, to which Harrison jokes “The women are literally falling for you.”
James will serve as the first Black male lead in the franchise’s history.
ABC has made significant changes to the show to protect the cast and crew during COVID-19.
Instead of using the famous "Bachelor" mansion, the season began filming in September at a resort in Pennsylvania, according to People Magazine. The entire resort was rented out, and the cast and crew underwent a two-week quarantine after arriving.
ABC Entertainment’s Rob Mills says the season is unpredictable.
"Matt is not on [this] season of The Bachelorette, and the reason why we take leads from a previous season is because you know them so well and we can predict which person he might like or not," he told Variety. "But we just didn't know at all, so it was really fun to watch him interact with everyone."
The new trailer comes in the middle of a rocky current season of "The Bachelorette.” ABC was left scrambling to find a new star of the show after Clare Crawley left to pursue a future with Dale Moss, a contestant Crawley met only weeks prior.
The show has since been taken over by past "Bachelor" contestant, Tayshia Adams.
The new season of "The Bachelor" is set to premiere on January 4.
