The Kansas City Aviation Department announced a series of ten public meetings aimed at figuring out what concessions should be available at KCI's new single terminal when it opens in late 2022 or early 2023.
Business executives, civic and minority organizations and leaders are encouraged to weigh in. The field is wide open, said Joe McBride, Aviation Department spokesman.
"We can offer some more variety for folks are both locals and out-of-towners to find what they need, maybe an impulse buy that they weren't after," McBride said.
A news release from the Aviation Department indicates they are looking for a "A concession program that is customer-centric, providing a sense of place, which engages useful technology and integrates a true spirit of Kansas City."
The findings will be reviewed by a consultant before requests for proposals are issued. Meetings will be held on both sides of the state line.
