Members of the Steelers organization sent dinner to Allegheny County Election workers on Wednesday night as they continued to tabulate votes.

The Catered meal from The Goose Express in Oakdale included Chicken, rigatoni, vegetables, bread, pies and more.

In a post on social media Allegheny County showed their appreciation.

“Thank you for your kindness,” the post said. “We’re grateful for the wonderful food from The Goose Express.”

Workers from the election division have been working hours upon hours to process thousands of mail-in ballots at the warehouse site on Pennsylvania Avenue located on Pittsburgh’s North Side.

On Election Day, employees worked for almost an entire 24-hour period before taking a brief break at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning before resuming at 10:30.

Due to a court order 29,000 of the remaining 35,000 ballots are replacement ballots cannot be counted until Friday so the elections division is doing “administrative work” on Thursday.
