As the world grapples with the explosive arrival of 2021 and its already crippling distractions, Luke Combs’ wife Nicole has offered an unfortunate reminder about the global pandemic.

COVID-19 continues to spread in the United States due to a struggle with testing and tracing and the continued flaunting of mask-wearing rules, and Nicole is just one of the latest to contract the virus.

Nicole revealed her battle on her Instagram stories over the weekend, explaining that she has experienced most of the tell-tale symptoms.

“I wish I was like those people that just lost their smell or taste or just didn’t even know they had it I guess," she said on her story. "But no, I’ve had all the symptoms, except for a fever,” she admitted. “It’s beat me up."

At the moment there is no indication that Luke himself has been exhibiting any symptoms, and Nicole has been doing much better since her initial posting. "It’s brutal, but you know I am on the up and coming and I am feeling great these last two or three days and hopefully, I test negative soon.”

Nicole's latest IG post shows the couple celebrating the holidays together in Nashville with an adorable photoshoot featuring their mixed bag of pets.

Luke and Nicole wed in August of 2020 during an emotional beachside ceremony.

Always one to give his fans a front-row seat to their romance, Luke has since penned a trilogy dedicated to the love of his life with the tracks "It's 'Beautiful Crazy," "Better Together," and "Forever After All."
