Suspect sought after 69-year-old man beaten to death on St. Charles highway

O”FALLON, Mo. (AP/KMOX) — A 69-year-old Missouri man has died from injuries he suffered in a fight along a highway near St. Louis, The Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The man, whose name was not released, was found unconscious beside state Highway 40 on Sunday morning. Officials confirmed on Monday that he died from his injuries.

Witnesses told police a man who appeared to be in his 30s got into a fight with the older man on the side of the highway. That driver then drove away in a 2019 or 2020 black Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500 diesel truck with a trailer attached.

**Update** We are looking for a black 2019-2020 Dodge Ram diesel truck that was pulling a white car trailer. The trailer had ramps that were vertical and not laying flat. The driver is a white male mid 30’s or 40’s. Vehicle traveled west on 64 to DD and south on DD

Investigators said they weren’t certain if the incident was a case of road rage and no witnesses could explain what prompted the fight.
