LONDON (KMOX/AP) - As a week's worth of ceremonies have been happening in remembrance of the thousands of soldiers who lost their lives 75 years ago at the D-Day invasion. The video above is clips of U.S. broadcasts from that day, from reporters Charles Collingwood, Bob Trout, Richard Hottelet and finally Edward R. Murrow wishes luck to the men in battle.

Troops from the England, the U.S., Canada and France attacked German forces up and down the coast of France, on 6 June 1944.

It was part of the largest combined military naval, air and land operation ever attempted and involved the simultaneous landing of tens of thousands of troops on five separate beaches in Normandy.
