ST. CHARLES, MO (KMOX) - More judges are calling court into session virtually.

Many traffic cases were on hold for the first months of the pandemic.  With social distancing measures still in place, the St. Charles County Municipal Court is adding a Zoom docket to help move those through.

Judge Joel Brett says it may eventually become a standard part of court procedure, "the people who have to appear in court who maybe can't take off work, but they can get to a phone or computer."

In-person hearings with social distancing measures will still be offered.

Brett says the court has already been using WebX for more serious traffic hearings.
