ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - For a while, it looked like a grim hope that we'd see baseball activities at Busch Stadium – or in any MLB ballpark – in 2020. But the St. Louis Cardinals are back in town and began the second buildup to the 2020 season, after the first was derailed by the coronavirus pandemic.

No media was allowed closer than a six rows from behind the home and away dugouts, pitcher Andrew Miller wore a mask while he was out on the field and the club was split into two sides, using both the home and away clubhouse and dugout.

As far as baseball action in concerned pitchers Jack Flaherty, Austin Gomber and Ryan Helsley were the highlights of live batting practice. Flaherty struck out Dexter Fowler in the first live BP of Spring Training 2.0.

There was the familiar sight of Yadier Molina was back behind the plate, but also the unfamiliar sight of Jose Oquendo in at Busch Stadium. The former third base coach has been working in the Cardinals minor leagues the last two seasons.
