ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The St. Louis Cardinals announced Sunday evening that a member of the organization has died after a month-long battle with COVID-19. Amateur scout and former first-round MLB pick Charles Peterson died at 46-years-old.
He was the signing scout of 2020 first-round daft pick Jordan Walker, catcher Andrew Knizer and others.
“Charles always would light up the draft room," says John Mozeliak, President of Baseball Operations. "His smile, his voice, his energy...you knew it was Charles. He was a special man that made others better. He will be missed."
