ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOX) updated after arrest - Cottleville Police have arrested a student for driving a vehicle into Francis Howell Central High School, Wednesday morning.

In the video above you can see photos of the black SUV inside the school, which smashed through two sets of glass doors in the school's entrance, located at 5199 State Highway N in St. Charles, around 3:45 a.m.

The black SUV was still inside the school as of 8:30 a.m.

Classes were cancelled due to safety concerns, but the Francis Howell School District says the school will reopen on Thursday. However, the main entrance will be closed off, so students and staff should enter through the gymnasium or theatre entrance until the front doors are repairs.

Cottleville Police told KMOX the vehicle still had gas in its tank and that's why it was such a safety concern.

The district says no one was hurt in the incident.

The student ran off according to school officials, but was later caught. Officials say the student was taken to a hospital, but it is still unclear why the student did this.

District Spokesman Matt Deichmann tells KMOX the car hit the double glass doors at a high rate of speed, sometime between 3 and 4 a.m. The impact spread glass and twisted metal inside the entrance.

The district first alerted the public via a tweet, saying the high schoo would be closed today due to a "facility accident."
