ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — A third Delmar Loop trolley car will arrive in St. Louis Tuesday morning.

It'll be delivered on the back of a flatbed truck to the Loop Trolley Company headquarters by the Gomaco Trolley Company of Ida Grove, Iowa. The company specializes in vintage-style streetcars.

This particular trolley car was built in the 1920s in Melbourne, Australia. It features a capacity of 100 passengers (50 seated, 50 standing).

It won't be deployed right away, though. First, it has to go through safety testing before it joins the two other trolley cars in service.

The Delmar Loop trolley system, which debuted on Nov. 16, is a 2.2-mile fixed-track that runs from the University City Library nears Kingsland Avenue east on Delmar Boulevard to DeBaliviere Avenue and then south on DeBaliviere to the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park and back.

Both its red and blue trolleys have had to go off-line this month for either collision or electrical problems.
