(ST. LOUIS) KMOX- The St. Louis region has a new daily record for COVID-19 hospitalizations.

The Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force says the number is edging closer to 900. It was 897 tThursday, breaking the record of 895 set Wednesday.

The seven-day "moving average" of hospitalizations rose by seven, also setting a daily record with 876.

The task force says I-C-U's are at 86-percent capacity while the region's hospitals are at an average of 77-percent capacity.

Missouri topped 4,000 new cases on Thanksgiving, reporting 4,471. The state's seven day positivity rate has dropped to 19.8 percent, nearly four percent lower than the rate over the previous seven days.
Franklin County is reporting another 82 new COVID-19 cases, raising its 14 day average to 77 new cases a day.

The county's positivity rate over the last week is just over 25 percent.

Illinois is reporting 12,022 newly confirmed cases and 131 additional deaths on Thanksgiving.

The deaths include a woman in her 50's in Madison County. A mas in his 70's in St. Clair County.

Just over 6 thousand Illinois residents are in teh hospital with COVID, 1,224 of them are in ICUs.
