Hillsboro, Mo (KMOX) -Jefferson County has approved a mask mandate , but not without pushback from health board member Suzy Davis. Davis wanted more discussion saying "this could cause people to argue and fight with each other, or there's a resolution, why are you, you know, how are, you know, if someone's six feet apart from somebody, you know, they're gonna want to fight."

The order passed 3-2 in favor of masks, but it does not carry any penalties for violations of the order, which is in conjunction with Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon's order.

The mask mandate takes effect on Friday, and as of right now, is for 30 days.
