The City of Wichita is beginning to hand out $12.5 million in federal pandemic relief money for rental assistance. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the idea is to get as many people as possible help in recovering from the pandemic. Whipple says the money from the U.S. Treasury compares to $12 million total spent on all social services last year, and $2 million the year before.
Wichita's COVID vaccination center has shifted from Intrust Bank Arena to the old downtown library building. Whipple says the buildin has plenty of room and there's plenty parking.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
