Although the gave the green light for a Friday, June 12 movie theater opening in some California counties, Los Angeles County is not one of them.
No explanation for the delay has been given, but the county is allowing everything from gyms to aquariums to museums and day camps to open Friday.
The theaters are required to limit attendance to 25 percent of their capacity or a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is lower.
Masks will be recommended when coming into or out of the theater, at the concession stand and when social distancing cannot be maintained.
Although members of the same household are allowed to sit together, indoor theaters are now required to reconfigure seating to ensure physical distance of at least six feet between theater-goers.
The state also suggests theaters use disposable or washable seat covers.
