UPDATE: Elsmere Fire Forward Progress Stopped With 30 Percent Containment in Santa Clarita

The Elsmere Fire was stopped from burning more acres by firefighters in Santa Clarita Monday afternoon.

As of 4:02 p.m. PDT, the forward progress of the Elsmere Fire has been stopped with 30 percent containment, according to LA County Fire Department on social media. It stood at 130 acres, according to LA County Fire Department on social media.

The fire was initially reported as burning 200 acres and 0 percent containment and is at the northbound 14 at Newhall Ave.,  according to LA County Fire Department Monday afternoon.

According to LA County Fire Department "A 3rd alarm response has now been requested for the #ElsmereFire."

The LA County Fire Department said on Twitter that "The NB 14 has been closed at the 5 freeway due to visibility issues."

There were evacuation orders from the LA County Sheriff's Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station in place for various locations, but those have been lifted this afternoon.

"3:15 P.M. The evacuations have been lifted between Dockweiler & Newhall Ave up to Valle del Oro. There are no current evac orders. Stay alert to any changing conditions. #ElsmereFire," the LASDHQ Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station wrote on Twitter.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, according to the LA County Sheriff's Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on Twitter there was "An Evacuation WARNING is in place for the neighborhood north of Valle de Oro."

The Sheriff's Station said on Twitter "ADVISORY: BRUSH FIRE. EVACUATIONS being called between Dockweiler & Newhall Ave up to Valle del Oro. #ElsmereFire #Newhall"
