Los Angeles Police Department investigators have identified the shooting victim of a marijuana deal gone bad.
Christopher Walker, 33, of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner's office reported.
"Detectives learned that the victim was involved in a marijuana transaction when the suspects shot and robbed the victim of marijuana," according to an Los Angeles Police Department statement.
Investigators with the LAPD are searching for three people in connection to a shooting in a Hollywood apartment building that left one victim dead.
The shooting took place Thursday morning around 1 a.m. at a building in the 1700 block of North Orange Drive and appears to be the result of a drug deal gone bad.
A call was made to 911, at around 1:00 a.m. A caller told emergency dispatchers that his brother had been shot in the chest while trying to buy drugs.
The victim, aged 33, was deceased when LAPD arrived.
The victim was conducting some sort of marijuana deal when he was “ripped off” and shot, LAPD Lt. John Radtke told KTLA.
The suspects were described as two males and a female.
Investigators are looking for any witnesses to the shooting and the building is equipped with surveillance cameras.
