The Pasadena Humane Society is trying something new as it tries to find homes for the dogs in its animal shelter. It's offering people a chance to take a dog home overnight to see how the animal might fit-in to their family and their lifestyle.Jack Hagerman of the Pasadena Humane Society tells KNX 1070 a shelter can be an especially stressful environment for a dog and a day away can truly do wonders:"We see a completely different side of them in the home environment. We get to see them being relaxed we get to see them sleeping soundly, we get to see them playing and wanting social interaction where they might not want that here in the shelter setting," Hagerman said. The sleepovers often go so well that people post about on social media and others visit the shelters, looking to adopt the dogs. If you're interested in hosting a "doggy sleepover," you'll need to take a training class.
The next one is this Saturday, Dec. 14.
