CA's top doc warns of a surge in COVID-19 cases following Labor Day weekend

Troubling signs that California could be hit hard by the coronavirus yet again.

Dr. Mark Ghaly, the state's health and human services secretary, says there are big red flags just two and a half weeks after the Labor Day weekend.

He expects the number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 will spike by nearly 90 percent% over the next month.

Ghaly also pointed out the number of people checking into emergency rooms for coronavirus symptoms is also increasing across the state.

While California has seen a surge in COVID-19 cases. we have yet to experience the pandemic, and the flu season simultaneously.
