LAPD officer admits to department he was in DC for pro-Trump rally

Tuesday the Los Angeles Police Department was notified by one of its own officers that he had attended the pro-Trump rally in Washington D.C.

The officer, whose name has not been made public, denies that he was part of the deadly mob of insurrectionists that stormed the Capitol.

According to reporting by NBC Los Angeles, the officer self-identified.

LAPD Chief Michel Moore told NBC that any officer who attended the events in D.C. would be required to provide information to the FBI.

The Associated Press uncovered information that the FBI warned law enforcement agencies ahead of last week's breach of the U.S. Capitol about the potential for extremist-driven violence, U.S. officials said, contradicting earlier statements that they were caught off guard by the assault by supporters of President Donald Trump.
