DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas County prosecutors are objecting to a change-of-venue request from lawyers for Amber Guyger, the former Dallas police officer facing a murder trial in the shooting death of Botham Jean.
Jean died last year after being shot by Guyger who had entered his apartment late at night, believing it to be her own.
Seeing him in the dark and thinking he was an intruder, she opened fire -- killing him.
Guyger's lawyers have asked for a change-of-venue, claiming the publicity over the case will prevent her from getting a fair trial.
Yesterday, Dallas County prosecutors filed a two-page motion objecting to the request.
