DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Those living in an East Texas county hit by tornadoes this month are finding hope through a Facebook page.

The tornadoes ripped through Alto in Cherokee County. Many people lost their homes and belongings.

Now, a Facebook page called Tornado of 4/13 Lost and Found is helping people find some of their lost belongings.

Missy Whittington is posting items on the Facebook page. She says, "There were three tornadoes that we know of in Alto. People just started finding things in their yards. Pictures, all kinds of things."

Someone else created the page and people just started posting items. Whittington says, "There were a few items from the Caddo Mounds historic site. Family photos. I found a teddy bear yesterday that I posted on the page. I'm taking care of it. I'm going to foster it until I can find his home. "

One man with a metal detector is wanting to help out.  Whittington says, "I really hope he can find things like lost jewelry, coins and things like that."

She says she's amazed at all the help and love that is pouring in.

Whittington says, "So many large companies have come in to help. It's just pouring in by the hour. Companies are feeding people. It's just really great."
