Police in south Texas say a man and a woman owned a puppy that went missing. Someone told the couple a neighbor took the animal. The couple confronted their neighbor Cedric Gibson. He denied having the puppy.
Later, the couple saw Gibson put the puppy in the car. Police say the couple pulled out their stolen puppy and Gray assaulted the woman.
Officers say he then pulled a gun from the car and threatened to shoot the couple. The couple's friend had a license to carry a gun. He said he feared for his friends' lives. He fired his gun and shot Gipson one time.
Paramedics took Gibson to a hospital.
The suspects, Cedric Gibson and Trireka La Gray face charges of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Gibson also faces charges of being a felon in possession of a weapon.
