MESQUITE (1080 KRLD) - Mesquite police say the eight month old girl who prompted an Amber Alert Monday night has been found safe.

No one had seen Nyla Crockett or her mother, Chernario Crockett, 30, since Friday night.

Police say the two were last seen about 11:15 Friday night on Galloway Avenue, north of I-30. Family members posted messages online asking for help finding the two.

Monday night, an Amber Alert was issued, listing Chernario Crockett as a suspect. Family members posted online, saying she was a victim.

Early Tuesday morning, Mesquite police confirmed Chernario Crockett had reported to them, and both she and Nyla Crockett were safe.

Mesquite police say they cannot release any other details about what happened. They say detectives have been talking to Crockett, and they are "grateful that both mother and child were located unharmed."
