GRAPEVINE (1080 KRLD) - Times are very slow for the airlines, so the workers don't have as much to do these days.

But some American Airlines employees at DFW Airport are putting their time to good use.

Everyone knows there's a shortage of masks so the workers are making as many as they can by hand, partly to boost their own morale because it's easy to feel a little down right now.

The workers are making the masks with something like an assembly line. Some cut the fabric, others sew and some iron them.

They work in shifts of about 20 people at a time, keeping their proper social distancing.
