DALLAS (KRLD) - A Dallas artist has set up his canvas just north of the Affiliated Computer Services building in Uptown to commit the city's newest landmark to canvas. Jerrel Sustaita is painting impressionist landscapes of the "Leaning Tower of Dallas".

"It's amazing when you think about the sheer weight of that mass and that form. I come out here with my paint box to capture that feeling...the change of the light and the dramatic shadows that are created during the day," said Sustaita, who calls himself the "Live Local Artist".

Sustaita has painted traditional landscapes in locations across the western U.S., but says he's also drawn to the urban landscape of Dallas.

"I just started to realize the color and the beauty that is in the structures and the architecture," he said. "The same light that is affecting the mountainscape is affecting the dynamic skylines that we have."

Sustatia's paintings can be found at several businesses around North Texas and on his website.
