The mother of a middle school boy is suing the Burleson school district, claiming her 11year-old son's school did little to nothing to stop the bullying that she believes led to the boy's suicide in 2018.
Dianna Morris requests that the district create an anti-bullying program along with policies addressing bullying and harassment.
In once instance reported by NBC 5, the boy visited the school nurse saying he wanted to kill himself, but the lawsuit claims there was no follow-through from the school.
The suit even says the Burleson school district threatened to fire any teacher who attended the boy's funeral.
A school district spokeswoman says they cannot comment on litigation but that their "thoughts continue to be with the family and friends of the Morris family."
