Your commute into work will be fine, but a different story unfolds on your way home. Grab your jackets and umbrella before you leave the house this morning.

The cold front will plow south and drift east towards the Dallas Fort Worth area later this afternoon.

Rain/storm chances return Thursday & Friday with the passage of the next strong cold front. There's a marginal risk for severe weather in the yellow circled area on Thursday. Heavy rain & minor flooding will be possible with this system. Stay weather-aware! #dfwwx #ctxwx #txwx pic.twitter.com/JmlklonEFh

Temperatures will turn sharply colder up the Ranger Hill plateau into west Texas 1st and slowly ooze east through the afternoon  across north Texas.

Due to the slower progression of the front eastbound, the storm prediction center has extended the level one out of five for severe weather across Dallas and Fort Worth. Wind and hail will be the threats but an isolated tornado is not out of the question, but is highly unlikely.

I expect anywhere between 2 to 4" of rain across the area before it all moves out by Saturday morning.

As far as the cold air, we will not get out of the forties tomorrow. It will be a chilly, nasty, and raw day.

  • Another BIG weather change unfolds today.
  • Level one out of five for hail and wind this afternoon.
  • Sharply colder by early evening.
  • 1”- 3” of rain coming.
  • A chilly and wet Friday. Miserable for H.S. football.
  • Clearing and warming Saturday. Sunday looks GR8!
