He says unfortunately so far this year there has been a 40-percent drop off on reported child abuse cases.
He says this is attributed to less interaction kids have this year with "safe adults" like teachers, camp counselors and daycare centers that usually report suspicious activity.
In addition, so far this year in Texas, Davis says, violent crimes against children, including homicide investigations involving children, have also doubled.
