This is the highest number of new positive cases reported in Dallas County. This Thursday is now the third straight day where a new record has either been set or tied.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Dallas County is now that of 12,257 with a total number of deaths now at 277.

The lastest three victims of the coronavirus include a womam in her 50s, resident of Dallas, a man in his 60s resident of a long-term care facility in Dallas, and a man in his 70s resident of Dallas. All three had underlying high-risk health conditions.

"These are the numbers we’re looking at to most accurately predict a second surge and doctors are looking at these numbers closely," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.

Jenkins reminded people that testing is available every day at the drive-thrus at the American Airlines Center and Ellis Davis Field House or the walk-up sites at Red Bird Mall and Inspired Vision Compassion Center.
