The Dallas Police Department is asking for help finding the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run.

It happened around 6:20 a.m. on Friday, when a pedestrian was crossing Cockrell Hill Road, just north of west Davis Street.

Police say a black 2018 or 2019 model SUV struck the pedestrian, then sped away. The pedestrian died as a result of the collision.

Police say the suspect failed to stop and render aid to the victim or provide any information, and instead continued northbound on Cockrell Hill Road.

The SUV is said to be missing a windshield wiper.

If you have any information regarding the suspect or the black SUV that struck the pedestrian in the roadway, please contact Detective Sammy Shaw in the Dallas Police Department’s Vehicle Crimes Unit at (214) 671-0019.
