Another day of blistering heat is on tap today.

Yesterday at 5:32 p.m. DFW Airport posted the first official 100-degree reading of the year, and another one is predicted today with a Heat Advisory in effect until 8 p.m.

Throughout the weekend, even the overnight temperatures refused to dip below 76.

With such stifling heat, MedStar reports nearly 40 heat-related paramedic calls. Of those, 29 ended in trips to the hospitals and two of those patients were in critical condition.

The Salvation Army is opening its cooling stations across Dallas-Fort Worth with airconditioned space and plenty of cold, bottled water.
