Basketball great Nancy Lieberman got to know Emmett while she was coaching and he was playing in Big 3, a three on three basketball league that gained huge popularity over the last few years.

"We used to talk about how he wanted to just change kids' lives," says Lieberman. "And he had such a great mind and spirit."

One of the works of Nancy Lieberman Charities is to build "Dream Courts" to give youth safe places to play sports and even participate in academic programs. Emmett told Lieberman that his dream was to build one in south Oak Cliff.

That dream will live on.

Friday at 4 p.m., the Dream Court in honor of Emmett with be unveiled with dignitaries like Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall, and 105.3 The Fan's Chris Arnold speaking.

Then from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. the charitable movement EveryoneEatz will serve 3,000 fresh meals, and provide COVID testing.

The Oak Cliff Family YMCA is located at 6701 S. Hampton Road in Dallas.
