SAN ANTONIO (1080 KRLD) - A San Antonio family is offering apologies for the actions of their son, the sailor who gunned down three civilian workers at the Pearl Harbor shipyard earlier this month.

Gabriel Romero committed suicide and was laid to rest yesterday. In conjunction with his services, a spokesman for the Romero family offered the following statement to the families of the victims: "The family knows none of their words can replace your lost loved ones or assuage your pain but hopes that you may find strength and solace over the coming months and years,"

The shooting was on December 4th, three days before the annual observances recognizing the victims of the Japanese sneak attack that ignited the U-S participation in World War II.
