The Fort Worth Independent School District has started posting a series of videos to help families transition to virtual classwork.
Fort Worth ISD will begin with online classes only September 8 and plans to continue online learning only for at least four weeks.
The district has started posting the videos to its YouTube channel. The first was posted Monday with advice on how to set up an online space for classwork.
"We're not expecting parents to become teachers. We're just expecting them to provide support," says Fort Worth ISD's Clint Bond.
Fort Worth ISD says 10,000 of its 84,000 students received a laptop when classes moved online in March, and 11,000 families received WiFi hotspots. The district plans to continue uploading videos through the year to answer parents' questions and address issues they may face.
