
Texas Governor Greg Abbott will be in Fort Worth today to discuss police funding.
Governor Abbott will be joined by Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and a many North Texas state lawmakers in Fort Worth today.
The details of Abbott's proposal won't be revealed until the Governor's announement, but the timing follows last week's decision by the Austin City Council to cut their police department budget by a reported $150 million.
In Fort Worth, voters last month overwhelming agreed to renew the city's additional half-cent sales tax which will provide Fort Worth police with an additional $1 billion over the next ten years.
