Students enrolled in the Keller ISD will return to school this month, but not as early as originally planned.
Last night, the Keller ISD school board voted unanimously to delay the start of school until August 26.
The first three days of class will be half days, and parents will have the choice between sending their kids to the classroom or keeping them at home for remote learning.
Board Trustee Craig Allen said at last night's meeting that reopening in a safe way will be difficult, but not impossible.
"There are businesses and industries that have figured out how to operate safely, and I think we can do the same," Allen said. "But there should be no compromise on our policies and our precautions. And parents, if you're not going to follow them - your kid isn't going to be in our school."
