DALLAS (KRLD) - The Lewisville Police Department is beginning an effort to crack down on parking violations in residential neighborhoods. The first phase of the city's Neighborhood Parking Enforcement Project begins today.
The city will post signs in residential neighborhoods reminding people about parking regulations. Next week, Lewisville Police will begin writing tickets for vehicles that are illegally parked.
Common violations include blocking a mailbox, parking facing the wrong way, and obstructing a sidewalk. Police will focus their enforcement efforts on neighborhoods where they have received the most complaints.
Officials say parking problems in residential neighborhoods have been a frequent source of complaints to the Lewisville Police Department.
