Obesity Identified As Top Risk Factor For Hospitalization In COVID-19 Cases

In the largest study so far of US hospital admissions for COVID-19, NYU researchers found that obesity was the single biggest chronic risk factor for admission, ahead of heart and lung disease.

This seems particularly alarming considering coronavirus attacks the respiratory system and can ultimately cause cardiac arrest due to lack of oxygen.

However Dr. Tyler Cooper says, he’s not surprised. He is the President and CEO of Cooper Aerobics and speaks with KRLD’s Kristin Diaz about how obesity leads to many health ailments and how many Americans are predisposed to this condition according the BMI scale.
