FORT WORTH (KRLD) - Thursday night, just hours after Atatiana Jefferson's funeral, her Fort Worth community gathered for a prayer forum seeking answers from city leaders.

It's been nearly two weeks since a Fort Worth police officer shot and killed Jefferson inside her mother's home.

Community members gathered at Baker Chapel AME Church to hear from leaders like Mayor Betsy Price who told the gathering there is no direct answer to the problem of tensions between police and the black community.

But she promised she would work on it with "...every ounce of her fiber."

Organizers of the forum are demanding not only justice for Jefferson but full accountability from the police department.

The officer who shot Jefferson resigned and is now facing a murder charge.
