Richardson school trustees have decided to phase in the return to on-campus classes by grade level.
The school board met last night and administrators tweeted the decision after the meeting.
Students from pre-K to 6th grade whose parents choose on-campus instruction will return to school on September 8th, the day after Labor Day. So will students in the Centralized Special Education Program.
Then, 7th and 8th graders will return to campus on September 14th - again, if parents have selected face-to-face instruction.
Finally, the high schoolers, with parental okay, will return to campus on September 21st.
Students whose parents have chosen virtual instruction will continue in that format. After each nine-week grading period, parents will have the choice of switching formats if they want.
