ROWLETT (1080 KRLD) - There are so many things you can do online during this time of social distancing from art to cooking to fitness, but the Rowlett Parks and Rec Department has come up with something unique.

It's hosting Bingo games on Facebook Live every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. It's part of its "Rowlett At Home" program.

"We're just trying to keep people engaged," said Jason Aguirre, Recreation Programmer for Senior Services.  "I know they miss playing at the Community Center.  It was something they looked forward to every Tuesday.  We just wanted them to have some sense of community in all of this."

The first video had 1,400 views.  "I was able to see how many people were watching during the games.  It ranged from ten to 60 or 70 people.  I don't know how many got a card and were participating, but I imagine it was 15 to 20 people."

Aguirre said the games are just for fun.  There aren't any prizes.  "When we play at the Community Center there are prizes, but there's no way for us to verify here if they got an actual Bingo."

To play:

-You get your bingo card at:

-The bingo caller will call the numbers and show the ball to the participants.

-Once you have a Bingo, comment "bingo" and then follow it up with the numbers that make up your bingo.
