DALLAS (1080 KRLD) -  If you think you have the voice to be the next Big Tex, auditions are open.

Earlier this year, Robert Boykin died after seven years voicing the big cowboy. Now, the State Fair of Texas is looking for his replacement.

The State Fair says the next Big Tex will embody traits like "friendliness, generosity, loyalty, persistence and commitment."

April 15th is the deadline for submissions. They'll choose the winner in July in time for the next run of the State Fair which begins on September 25th.
