Based on the worldwide numbers, COVID-19 is having a much greater impact on men than women.  One expert says the reason for the disparity lies in genetics.

Dr. Sharon Moalem is a physician, scientist, biotech inventor and best-selling author.  He said females have a greater ability to fight this novel coronavirus because they have a second X chromosome.

Dr. Moalem says the presence of that same chromosome also allows women to resist other diseases, including some forms of cancer.  But, at the same time, it can make them more susceptible to other conditions.

Dr. Moalem talked with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
