Michael Irvin says Dak Prescott's getting paid, doesn't want Fitzpatrick

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Playmaker has spoken.

Following Andy Dalton's first game as the new starting quarterback, and after the Miami Dolphins benched Ryan Fitzpatrick in favor of Tua Tagovailoa, several media personalities and fans clamored at the thought of the Cowboys making a move for "Fitzmagic." Michael Irvin, however, wasn't one of them.

"Hell no. Hell no. Stop. Stop. Not Ryan Fitzpatrick. You gotta give me another name. I just can't take Ryan. I love Ryan. I think he's a great dude, (has) a great attitude," Irvin said on Shan and RJ on 105.3 The Fan. "Don't bring somebody who's playing basketball in the NFL, bouncing from team to team. Hope much hope will that give me?"

Irvin went on to say that he'd love to trade for Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, but he wouldn't keep him long-term over Prescott.

Speaking of Prescott, Irvin believes it's only a matter of time before the Cowboys shell out the big contract for Dak after watching how poorly the team played without him last week vs Arizona.

"All the fighting about is Dak worth this, is Dak worth that? Sit down! Just sit down, buddy. We're seeing right now, yes, he's worth it. Yes, that defense is bad, but at least Dak had them in the game, coming back, and having a shot at winning the game."
